AWS RDS customization for automated backups and snapshots

Hello,

On my production environment, I have an AWS RDS instance managed by Qovery. I’d like to update its configuration in order to:

  • adjust the frequency of backups and snapshots
  • save the backups and snapshots in multiple AWS regions.

What is the best way to do this ?
Will it conflicts with Qovery’s configuration if I perform some customization via the AWS console or Terraform ?

Hey @wewelll,

You can still customize your RDS directly in AWS by changing the retention period and save backups to another AWS region but if you redeploy your managed db on Qovery side, you will lost all this custom configuration.

But we will have soon (end of Q3) a way to deploy managed RDS databases from terraform or cloud formation with Qovery. With this, you will be able to customize as you want your managed databases.
